I was very nervous when meeting professor Kommu but he quickly put me at ease. He explained everything I needed to know about the operation and what would happen after. I'm so glad I took his advice and would recommend anyone else to do the same . Its fourteen months since my operation and Mr Kommu has still kept in touch.

I went in Canterbury Hospital to have Robotically Assisted Laparoscopic Prostatectomy by Professor S. Kommu on April 14th Friday and all went well and was back home at 7pm 15th Saturday . I took it easy for 2 weeks then had the catheter removed on the 28th April. I was careful for the next 10 weeks not to lift or strain myself doing things around the house and garden. After12 weeks from the surgery I was back out on my jet ski enjoying my hobby again with my friends riding the waves again. By October 12th I stopped using the pads as was now feeling confident without them and just to add a Big thanks to all and everyone for making this experience having surgery go well.

It's not easy to encapsulate my heartfelt appreciation for Professor Kommu in less than many thousands of words. His professionalism, bedside manner, commitment to his patients, seemingly without time constraints to speak to his patients (old and new ones) although we know he is, to say the least, an extremely busy surgeon, speak many volumes as to just how fortunate I was to have had him appointed as my guide through what has been an often traumatic period. Without his steadfast support, I am not sure if I would have made the recovery that I have done. Thank you Sashi.

Professor Kommu could not have been more helpful. At every follow up meeting or phone call he has answerd my questions and expalined everything.

My experience with Professor Kommu was excellent. A very pleasant and polite man and he took the trouble to explain how the procedure would work. I could not have been in better hands

Mr Declan Cahill
Sashi is an enthusiastic, forward thinking, innovative consultant colleague. He is very approachable and a pleasure to work with. He was very helpful to me as a colleague ENT robotic surgeon in setting up a new head and neck robotic service at Kent & Canterbury Hospital. He is a team player, and we have worked together in setting the multidisciplinary robotic surgery students selected component for KMMS medical students. Sashi is well respected in the hospital, patient-centred in his approach and practices evidence based medicine in his clinical practice. I would happily recommend Mr Kommu to look after one of my family members.
