Its area is famous for waterfalls, viewpoints, picturesque panoramas and sunsets. I’m obsessed with sights and sunsets, so Urubici exceeded my expectations with its landscapes. So I collected the best viewpoints to visit in Urubici, Brazil.  Most of the viewpoints wait for you with swings and other Instagrammable places. So if you want THE PHOTO, expect some waiting time. Also, many of them are private parks, so you’ll have to pay an entrance fee, though the view will totally compensate you.  Note: The prices and opening times (July 2022) are also included in the post. Still, it can change anytime, especially the opening time, so check it on their sites to not miss your dreamy panorama. Colina do Sol – The best chalet to stay in Urubici – Santa Catarina, Brazil https://alizswonderland.com/colina-do-sol-best-chalet-in-urubici-santa-catarina-brazil/ https://alizswonderland.com/colina-do-sol-best-chalet-in-urubici-santa-catarina-brazil/#respond Tue, 09 Aug 2022 02:55:31 +0000 https://alizswonderland.com/?p=6775 Ready to discover a different side of Brazil? Brazil is more than beaches. I wouldn’t imagine the Brazilian mountains would remind me of the Austrian Alps, and I’d watch them from a hot tub drinking sparkling wine at 10 am. Usually, I’d like to save money on accommodation, though when I found out about this charming chalet, Pousada Colina do Sol, I had to book it for our weekend getaway to Urubici. So for us, Colina do Sol was the best chalet to stay in Urubici.  Urubici is located in the Santa Catarina mountain range (Serra Catarinense), 170 km from Florianópolis. Its area is famous for waterfalls, viewpoints, natural sights and adventurous activities. It’s a popular tourist destination in every season, especially during winter. Due to its altitude of almost 1000 m, the weather can be snowy, and that’s a rare thing in Brazil.  Where is Pousada Colina do Sol located in Urubici? The territory is less than 10 km from the centre of Urubici and 20 km from the famous viewpoint, Morro da Igreja. It’s located on the main road (SC-370) between Urubici and Serra do Corvo Branco. Before our arrival, the owner sent us the details on WhatsApp. […]

I was expecting the same thing… But in reality, Brazil isn’t full of specialty coffee shops. I was surprised to realize that São Paulo doesn’t have that specialty coffee (and brunch) culture like Budapest. So in São Paulo, specialty coffee shops won’t just pop up on the next corner. So I created this specialty coffee shop guide for you to know where to look for cafés in São Paulo. Best specialty coffee shops in São Paulo, Brazil Most of São Paulo’s specialty coffee shops are located in Vila Madalena and Pinheiros neighbourhoods. Every place has espresso, cappuccino, though only a few places serve flat white, which is my favourite. At least, I could try out new types and V60 coffees became one of my new favourites. On the following map (My Maps by Google Maps) you can see the best specialty coffee shops to visit in São Paulo. By clicking on the tab next to “São Paulo’s best specialty coffee shops”, you can see the actual points, and it’s also possible to turn off and on layers. Furthermore, you can also save this map […]

I’ll tell you in this blog post why you should visit Ilhabela. Read my Ilhabela travel guide to find out what to do, where to go, where to stay, and the best time to visit. Why should you add Ilhabela to your Brazilian bucket list? Ilhabela is famous for its marvellous beaches, though this tropical island is more than pretty beaches. More than 40 beaches lay around the coastline of Ilhabela, and the hilly middle part of the island is covered with a jungle in more than 50 shades of green and amazing colourful flowers. On the trails of the jungle, you can access almost 10 waterfalls on different parts of the island. I also have to mention the fantastic seafood we had there! Best beaches in Rio de Janeiro https://alizswonderland.com/best-beaches-in-rio-de-janeiro/ https://alizswonderland.com/best-beaches-in-rio-de-janeiro/#comments Sun, 15 Apr 2018 18:45:37 +0000 https://alizswonderland.com/?p=1280 Oh Brazil, oooooh Rio… I miss you! Brazilian beaches are amazing! The sand is soft, the waves can be huge and the sunsets are colourful. Brazilian beach culture is also various. The beaches aren’t just for sunbathing and enjoying the water. Do sport, try the Brazilian food and drink. Enjoy the magical sunset and listen to the sound of waves. The water is clear everywhere. The waves are loud, tall and strong, I almost lost my bikini once. It was so good to jump with the waves and enjoy their powers. You can choose from many beaches in Rio de Janeiro: Praia Vermelha, Praia Copacabana, Praia Ipanema with Arpoador, just to mention the most famous ones. Praia means beach in Portuguese. This is the view (just part of the stunning view) from the Pão de Açúcar (Sugarloaf mountain), but that will be another blog post 😉 You can see Praia Vermelha at the bottom of the mountain and the curved shape of Copacabana. What to do on a Brazilian beach? Do & watch sport Sport is very important for Cariocas (people from Rio de Janeiro), they take care of their bodies. One of the most popular sport is running in […]
