Its area is famous for waterfalls, viewpoints, picturesque panoramas and sunsets. I’m obsessed with sights and sunsets, so Urubici exceeded my expectations with its landscapes. So I collected the best viewpoints to visit in Urubici, Brazil.  Most of the viewpoints wait for you with swings and other Instagrammable places. So if you want THE PHOTO, expect some waiting time. Also, many of them are private parks, so you’ll have to pay an entrance fee, though the view will totally compensate you.  Note: The prices and opening times (July 2022) are also included in the post. Still, it can change anytime, especially the opening time, so check it on their sites to not miss your dreamy panorama. Brazil is more than beaches. I wouldn’t imagine the Brazilian mountains would remind me of the Austrian Alps, and I’d watch them from a hot tub drinking sparkling wine at 10 am. Usually, I’d like to save money on accommodation, though when I found out about this charming chalet, Pousada Colina do Sol, I had to book it for our weekend getaway to Urubici. So for us, Colina do Sol was the best chalet to stay in Urubici.  Urubici is located in the Santa Catarina mountain range (Serra Catarinense), 170 km from Florianópolis. Its area is famous for waterfalls, viewpoints, natural sights and adventurous activities. It’s a popular tourist destination in every season, especially during winter. Due to its altitude of almost 1000 m, the weather can be snowy, and that’s a rare thing in Brazil.  Where is Pousada Colina do Sol located in Urubici? The territory is less than 10 km from the centre of Urubici and 20 km from the famous viewpoint, Morro da Igreja. It’s located on the main road (SC-370) between Urubici and Serra do Corvo Branco. Before our arrival, the owner sent us the details on WhatsApp. […]

During our 2 weeks in Bolivia, we explored various landscapes, heights and climates, witnessed unrealistic beauties. And I’m happy to share our experiences with you 🙂   Things to know before visiting Bolivia Bolivian climate – Best time to visit Bolivia Bolivia has more than one climate thanks to the variety in altitude and locations. The northern part of the country has a nearly equatorial climate, so it’s hot and humid all the time. East Bolivia (Gran Chaco and Santa Cruz de la Sierra) has a tropical climate, where dry and wet seasons change each other. The hottest months are September, October and November. South Bolivia is ruled by the Andes, so it has a higher altitude with a cooler climate. The coldest months are […]

I was expecting the same thing… But in reality, Brazil isn’t full of specialty coffee shops. I was surprised to realize that São Paulo doesn’t have that specialty coffee (and brunch) culture like Budapest. So in São Paulo, specialty coffee shops won’t just pop up on the next corner. So I created this specialty coffee shop guide for you to know where to look for cafés in São Paulo. Best specialty coffee shops in São Paulo, Brazil Most of São Paulo’s specialty coffee shops are located in Vila Madalena and Pinheiros neighbourhoods. Every place has espresso, cappuccino, though only a few places serve flat white, which is my favourite. At least, I could try out new types and V60 coffees became one of my new favourites. This particular area was a totally new world for me. I really enjoyed the diversity in architecture as well as in people’s behaviour and look. Though I have to admit, on our first day I wasn’t so impressed with the centre of La Paz. However, its variety mesmerized me by colourful historical buildings, raw brick facades without any plaster, modern buildings with glass facades and the innovative cable car network. Not only La Paz, but its surroundings also offer fascinating experiences. Continue reading to find out which are the best places to visit in La Paz, Bolivia. How to get to La Paz? By bus to La Paz Bolivia has many bus companies, though I haven’t read many promising things about them. Most of the companies don’t have heating, toilets on board and aren’t that safe.
