It’s time to continue Budapest’s best breakfast & brunch places series! After Deák Ferenc square and Astoria, Jászai Mari square and Pozsonyi street, I collected the best breakfast & brunch places close to Parliament. Why not mix breakfast with sightseeing?! So from a few of these places, you can even have a panorama to the Hungarian Parliament. Enjoy your breakfast with a view!
The address, prices and opening times are also included in the post. Still, it can change anytime, especially the opening time, so check it on their sites to not miss your dreamy breakfast with a view to the Parliament.
Where to have breakfast & brunch around the Parliament of Budapest?
On the following map (My Maps by Google Maps) you can see the best breakfast & brunch places around the Parliament.
By clicking on the tab next to “Budapest’s best breakfast & brunch places close to the Parliament”, you can see the actual points. Furthermore, you can also save this map (if you have My Maps account) by pressing the star next to the map title.
Café Smúz – virág neked
Café Smúz is one of the closest breakfast places to the Parliament and its outdoor area offers a fantastic view of the Parliament. Yep, during summer you can also sit outside. Don’t worry, sitting inside in the colder season won’t affect the picture and you will be surrounded by amazing plants because the place functions as a flower shop.
The menu is full of tasty breakfast options. My spinach quiche with salad was delicious, especially the soft spinach layer. My friend’s ricotta sandwich also tasted nice.
They serve “normal coffees”, furthermore, colourful coffees and drinks like matcha latte, turmeric latte, red velvet latte, blue velvet latte and multicolour latte.
Save some space for dessert, because their fridge is home to tasty and beautiful cakes.
Prices:
- Spinach quiche with salad – 2750 HUF
- Smúz raw (fresh vegetable and fruit juice) – 1350 HUF
- Matcha latte – 1550 HUF
- Service fee – 10%

Elysée Bistro & Kávéház
Elysée bistro is also nearby and overlooks the Parliament. In the warm season, the terrace provides a memorable view. In the cold season, you can also enjoy the sight of the Parliament thanks to the huge windows.
They combine typical Hungarian and French bistro styles and dishes. One of the friendly waiters even spoke French with the French guests.
The breakfast & brunch menu includes egg dishes, toasts, fruity meals, French pastries and Hungarian dishes with sausage, Hungarian lecsó (ratatouille) and vegetables. I’ve tried out a Hungarian dish called the “Country”, which contained Liptauer, Mangalica sausage, salami, ham, eggs and fresh vegetables. My boyfriend chose a more French breakfast called Elysée breakfast muffin. These traditional dishes were dressed in a contemporary set up on our plates and were super tasty.
They didn’t look like big portions, though we weren’t hungry after our brunch. The lemonade was refreshing and tasty, though the coffee wasn’t that good as in specialty coffee shops.
Prices:
- “Country” – 1890 HUF
- Elysée breakfast muffin – 2150 HUF
- Lemonade – 1190 HUF
- Cappuccino – 790 HUF
- Service fee – 12%

I’ve tried many dishes there, my favourite was the Egg Benedict. However, the Croque Madame, avo toast with smoked salmon and the guacamole wrap are delicious too.

Artizán Budapest
Artizán bakery and coffee shop is located in the building of Prestige Hotel. In the morning, there’s a big queue at the cashier because locals buy their daily bread and pastry portion. There are tables on 2 floors, so I’m sure you’ll find a seat.
It might be hard to choose from their wide pasty selection, which consists of amazing salty and sweet pastries, baguette and award-winning bread. Furthermore, they offer many breakfast options like focaccia, egg variations, sandwiches and cakes. I couldn’t resist the gorgeous pasties, so I had to try out a salty and sweet one as well.

Börze Café and Restaurant
Börze is just sooooo beautiful and elegant. Cosy and stylish at the same time and devoted waiters look for your wishes. It’s a pleasure to be there. They have numerous tables, but at the weekend it’s safer to make a reservation. The breakfast is served only till 11 am on weekdays and till 12 pm on weekends, so get up “early” to save your seat.
They offer many egg dishes, sweets, French toast, avo toast, duck liver paté and other specialities.
The avocado toast was topped with walnut, brie cheese, dried tomatoes and salad. I was happy to see the thick layer of creamy avocado, but I missed the real taste of avocado. The other ingredients improved the overall impression, but without the avocado flavour, it wasn’t as tasty as I expected.
Prices:
- Avocado toast: avocado cream, camembert, walnut, sun-dried tomatoes – 1190 HUF
- Banana, coconut milk, peanut butter, cocoa smoothie – 990 HUF
- Flat white – 750 HUF
