Searching for the word AVOCADO on the menu? Avocado toast, avocado sandwich, smashed avocado, avocado smoothie, avocado chocolate mousse, guacamole. Avocado is delicious in every form, though my fav is avocado toast for breakfast. Fortunately, Budapest has many breakfast & brunch places with avocado on their menu 😛 As an avocado lover, I had to look for the best avocado toast in Budapest.
What makes an avo toast best of the best? The toast should be topped with a thick layer of creamy avocado and/or avocado slices and can be served with poached egg, salmon and some greens. Beauty is also a requirement because we, foodies, might post it on Instagram (DEFINITELY!).

Börze Café and Restaurant
Börze is just so so beautiful and elegant. Cosy and stylish at the same time and devoted waiters look for your wishes. It’s a pleasure to be there. They have numerous tables but at the weekend it’s safer to make a reservation. The breakfast is served only till 11 on weekdays and till 11:30 on weekend, so get up “early” to save your seat.
The avocado toast was topped with walnut, brie cheese, dried tomatoes and salad. I was happy to see the thick layer of creamy avocado, but I missed the real taste of avocado. The other ingredients improved the overall impression but without the avocado flavour, I didn’t eat with such a great pleasure.

Toprum Sky & Bar
Toprum is located on the top of Hotel RUM Budapest. You can enjoy your brunch with a view to rooftops, Gellért Hill, Royal Palace and Buda Hills in the background. Brunch is served only on weekends and reservation is recommended. Otherwise, you can’t experience the chic atmosphere with fluffy chairs, friendly service and live music. And the brunch, of course 😉
3 small homemade toasts were covered with avocado cream, goat cheese, sun-dried tomato and coriander. The avocado taste was missing again, the sandwiches were good but not as yummy as they looked like. Yeah, I know, I shouldn’t have high expectations…

Kuglóf
Kuglóf is a cute little place close to Váci street with indoor and outdoor seats as well. The friendly staff serves two kinds of avocado toasts (and many other things), one is with English muffin, the other one with rye bread. Both versions contain poached egg, hollandaise sauce and avocado cream. The poached egg was just perfect, but I’d place a bit more of avocado cream on the toast. Never enough of avocado #omnomnom

Your avocado sandwich can be prepared with bagel or with whole wheat bread. Between the slices, you’ll find avocado cream with coriander, poached egg and fresh avocado slices too, plus some fresh salad and dressing on the side. I was satisfied with the green sandwich thanks to its creamy avocado.

Á la Maison Grand
Á la Maison Grand is a bright impressive place, dressed in a minimal style with a hint of art deco. This fancy breakfast & brunch location has every type of breakfast on the menu, but I searched for the AVOCADO 😉
Their avocado toast with greens and poached egg looked gorgeous. Its taste was also good, but a bit more of avocado cream would make it even better. Maybe I’m too critical, but I’m just looking for the best 😉

Sonkapult
Sonkapult is a small breakfast place with 4 tables inside. Reservation isn’t possible and have some cash because they don’t accept card. And now, the good news 😉
The friendly staff has a cute little dog hiding in the corner, who sometimes appears for some food, which tastes very good (I guess, their dog doesn’t eat avocado…). The toast was served with thick slices of avocado, a big piece of salmon and a poached egg. Yesssss, I’ve found a place where the avocado layer was thick enough! The menu contained even more avocado options, but avocado with salmon and poached egg is my weak point… It tasted amazingly good!

Törökméz
Törökméz is on the Budapest side, not far from Margaret bridge. No reservation is available, so on a Saturday morning, we waited 20 minutes for a table. No regrets, the bright interior with a little tropical vibe, the friendly staff and the breakfast compensated us for the waiting time.
The avocado sandwich was absolutely tasty 😛 It was topped with cream cheese, avocado cream, salmon and a poached egg. Delicious and super beautiful (I had to post it on Instagram…)!

The avocado toast is listed on the menu on the tables. The toast with salmon, seeds, avocado and salad were displayed on a stylish board. Pretty and super tasty and they didn’t spare on avocado 😛

Szimply
Szimply is not simple, but super cool breakfast place with only a few tables, so it’s mainly busy. I’ve tried 3 times to get in, but it was always full. Reservation isn’t available, so for the 4th time, we arrived at opening time. For a delicious breakfast, it’s worth to wake up early. Or arrive later and wait for a free table and in the meantime, grab a coffee at Kontakt, next to Szimply and feel free to bring it with you.
You know the feeling when the food is so beautiful and you’re afraid to touch the masterpiece on your plate? Then this is your place! Szimply provides tasty and awesome #instafood with a seasonal changing menu. The avocado toast was very flavourful with the avocado cream, eggs, greens and sauces. Delicious and delightful!

London Coffee Society
London Coffee Society is located in the centre, just look for the big coffee signboard. The place isn’t so big, if it looks full from outside, just go in because it has a small gallery, so there might be free places upstairs. Reservation isn’t possible, sorry again. While waiting for a table or your breakfast, enjoy the party music. Order at the bar and the friendly and professional staff will bring your food to the table.
I’ve found the avocado and avo words not once, but seven times on the menu! I chose the smashed avocado sandwich with salmon (you can choose bacon instead of salmon). This was the biggest portion of avocado toast ever. 2 delicious avocado toasts + 2 poached eggs + salmon + greens = satisfaction 😛 The avocado cream with the egg was amazing, just like everything on the plate.
