Hey, my coffee lover friend! Cannot imagine your day without your daily coffee and don’t want to skip your coffee during travelling? Totally get you! Are you coming to Budapest and want to know where to drink the best specialty coffee? Don’t stop reading 😉
Discovering a new city and culture also includes drinking like a local, not only Hungarian pálinka and wine but coffee as well. In Budapest, you can find many cute coffee shops with a unique atmosphere serving quality coffee. It’s super hard to choose the best from these fantastic cafés, so I collected 10 coffee shops you need to try in Budapest (and more are coming soon). Read my specialty coffee guide to Budapest.
Let’s dive into this specialty coffee guide to Budapest, Hungary
The address, prices and opening times are also included in the post. Still, it can change anytime, especially the opening time, so check it on their sites to not miss your dreamy coffee.
Fekete
Fekete means black, so you can have good quality black coffee as well as other shades. Every shade and type of coffee is super tasty here. A basic cappuccino or flat white is just as wonderful as the special ones like espresso tonic or cold brew. They also offer delicious cakes and breakfast options.
The coffee shop can be reached from a courtyard, where seats are waiting for you to enjoy your chosen drink in the warm season. During winter, the cosy indoor area is there for you, just order at the bar and take a seat.
Fekete can be crowded at the weekends, especially in the morning, but it’s worth waiting!

In the minimal space of Kontakt, you’ll get delicious coffee! They sell real coffee for real coffee lovers. If you want to order Americano, don’t go there. And don’t ask for sugar, specialty coffee doesn’t need sugar.

My Little Melbourne
Budapest’s first specialty coffee shop was established in 2012, and it’s still one of the bests!!! Yep, I’m talking about My Little Melbourne!
The baristas will prepare you super tasty filter coffee, also special ones like espresso tonic or cold brew. Cold brew is available also for takeaway. You can enjoy your coffee upstairs and downstairs, surrounded by wooden surfaces, simple interior design and design products. Or take a seat outside and have fun with the other coffee lovers.
If you need more energy, pastries, croissants, cakes, and juices are also on the menu 🙂

Kelet Café
Kelet Café is the only one in this post from the Buda side. Relax, Buda also has other great coffee shops. I choose this one because of its cosy living room mood and the coffee, of course.
Inside the coffee shop, the shelves on the wall are full of books, so you might have that feeling like you’re in a library or at home (if you have a room full of books…).
Order your coffee (and breakfast, cakes or something else from the menu) at your table, and at the end pay at the bar.

Sooooo which one was your preferred one? I couldn’t choose my favourite of these cafés. The coffee and the mood is so wonderful everywhere, so I just to return to each one and also discover new ones 😉
