Spring can mean a lot of things for you… Blooming flowers, sunshine, almost summer mood oooooor spring clean. Didn’t expect this??? Haha, sorry but it’s SPRING CLEAN time! I am sure you also need to organize and clean your home. Here is a fun DIY idea to arrange your magazines, documents, papers, bills and whatever you have. Organize your home and keep everything in the right place, it will save you precious time. Everyone owns some stuffs what they don’t need. So you have to throw away few of them, it will make your life easier. Systematize your important documents and papers. I show you how! Do you have empty Kellogg’s box or other cereal boxes? I’m sure you have ruler and scissors, so you’ll only need a contact paper. I had some leftover adhesive vinyl from the design studio where I work. I’m obsessed with recycling so I used that one to cover my empty boxes. You can buy contact paper or wallpaper. The pattern also depends on you. Do you prefer marble (it’s very trendy nowadays), floral, tropical or just a simple colour? I had a bad habit. At home, I organized my papers in one […]

Ready for a little DIY? Create your own special gift wrapping paper for the Holidays in a super easy way. You need only paper, paint and the “pattern”. What kind of shapes and patterns remind you of Christmas? Christmas tree, star, heart, snow, snowflake, snowman, pine, gingerbread, reindeer, a box of present, ribbon? Look around at home, use your imagination and your items in your household.   Materials for your DIY gift wrap Paper for the prints Paper for surface / furniture protection Paint + water Stamp: pine branch / potato / pastry cutter / knife Brush Rubber gloves (optional)   How to make the Christmas pattern? Cover your worktop with paper to protect your furniture from any damage. In a plastic glass or small bowl mix acrylic paint with water. You can play with the texture by adding different amount of water to the paint. For me, the half paint and half water combination worked the best. Dip your form into the paint or paint the stamp surface with a brush and press onto the paper. Lay the paper on a safe surface to dry. I used recycled paper because it’s easier to work with. You can use […]

How to choose the perfect Christmas gift? https://alizswonderland.com/how-to-choose-perfect-christmas-gift/ https://alizswonderland.com/how-to-choose-perfect-christmas-gift/#respond Sun, 26 Nov 2017 21:32:44 +0000 https://alizswonderland.com/?p=756 Christmas time is almost here 🙂 The Christmas holidays are so peaceful and loving for me, but everyone has the same problem before Christmas: What should I give my loved ones?  I give you a few ideas about how to choose the perfect Christmas gift. We always look for the perfect gift for family and friends to make them joyful. I like to observe the faces when they unwrap my presents, it’s so good to see their happy faces and smiles. During the university we had a lot of deadlines before Christmas, I didn’t have time to buy presents on time, so I left the shopping for the last days. In the malls (and almost everywhere) people madly look for the perfect present. I hate this crazy rush for the gifts, I’d like to run away from the mall. Since I’ve finished university I always buy my presents in November or sooner. This is the 21st century, so we don’t have to go to the shopping mall, it’s possible to buy presents in front of the computer. Always count on the longer delivery time before the Holidays, many people prefer to take care of the gifts via the internet. Order the […]

Easy tricks to decorate your walls on budget https://alizswonderland.com/easy-tricks-to-decorate-your-walls-on-budget/ https://alizswonderland.com/easy-tricks-to-decorate-your-walls-on-budget/#respond Mon, 28 Aug 2017 22:08:02 +0000 https://alizswonderland.com/?p=299 After the renovation of my apartment I ran out of money, so had to save money. I had the main furniture, but the walls were empty and it didn’t feel like home. First I went to some home decoration stores, but I couldn’t find anything good on a reasonable price. So I set myself into DIY mode and decided to prepare my own wall decoration. I bought some simple colourful frames in Ikea and placed prints into them. I had to pay only for the frames and the printing, this way very cost-efficient. I was looking for pictures, illustrations on Pinterest (where else?!), saved a lot to my funny & cute and to my art & illustration boards and choose my favourites. It was a bit hard because I found a lot of cute and also inspiring pictures. The chosen ones: Art pieces by Yoni Alter I’m an architect, I like architecture and colourful graphics, what a surprise 😉 Hihihi 🙂 No need for explanation, why these illustrations amaze me. Yoni Alter, a London-based designer and art director created the colourful collection called Shapes of Cities. It includes around 60 cities (London, Paris, Barcelona, New York, San Francisco, Sydney) around the […]
