Budapest Design Week 2017

Budapest Design Week started in 2014, initiated by the Hungarian Design Council. The festival is around September and October, it’s more than a week, this year it was 10 days long, started the 6th and finished on the 15th of October. The design week is better and better every year, the festival had more than 120 programs in 2017. My favourite parts are the Open Studios and Workshops. You can choose from many events, design & interior design exhibitions, roundtable discussions & talks, presentations, tours, openings and parties. There are main events featured with famous design figures, such as Marcel Wanders, Michael Anastassiades and Johannes Torpe. The concept was Start, which intended to promote new and/or small- and medium-sized businesses too. This year the guest of honour was Denmark, so many events and exhibitions were dedicated to Denmark: exhibition and showroom about Arne Jacobsen’s design, roundtable discussion about the secret of happy life, introduction about Danish design then & now, just to mention few events. Millennial pink ideas for your perfect home

Millennial pink is hugely popular right now in furniture and product design, also in fashion. But why? What is millennial pink? Also called Scandi pink and Tumblr pink, it’s not only one colour, the shades are somewhere between beige, peach and salmon. The faded pink received its name when Véronique Hyland (New York Magazine) asked: “Why millennial women love it so much?” Not that hard question 😉 I like every shade of pink. Not because I’m a woman and women love pink, it’s not true. Rose and pink shades give a warm and peaceful feeling. My favourite is the 2016 Pantone colour of the year, named as Rose Quartz. Another famous Pantone shade is Pale Dogwood, colour for spring 2017. Yes, I love Pantone colours, we use the Master Collection palette in the office for designing. Easy tricks to decorate your walls on budget

After the renovation of my apartment I ran out of money, so had to save money. I had the main furniture, but the walls were empty and it didn’t feel like home. First I went to some home decoration stores, but I couldn’t find anything good on a reasonable price. So I set myself into DIY mode and decided to prepare my own wall decoration. I bought some simple colourful frames in Ikea and placed prints into them. I had to pay only for the frames and the printing, this way very cost-efficient. I was looking for pictures, illustrations on Pinterest (where else?!), saved a lot to my funny & cute and to my art & illustration boards and choose my favourites. It was a bit hard because I found a lot of cute and also inspiring pictures.
