Do you drink enough water and get enough vitamins? Boost your immune system with this lemonade, which has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. This refreshing detox lemonade is also called flat belly water, it’s flavoured with lemon, cucumber, ginger and mint.
I like to drink this lemonade when I had more food than I should have and during the summer. In summer I prepare it almost every day because it’s so refreshing.
I will prepare it after Easter to clean my body. I visited my parents, they always prepare a lot of food: ham, eggs, beetroot and I only mentioned my favourites. Every year I try to control myself not to eat so much, this time I didn’t have that much.

This detox drink is also healthy, thanks to lemon and cucumber, which are rich in vitamin C and antioxidants.
This lemonade is also good for people who don’t like to drink as much as required per day.

Why lemon, cucumber, mint and ginger are good for you?
Lemon
Lemon is a good source of folate and vitamin C, which is one of the most important antioxidants in nature. Contains unique flavonoid compounds that have antioxidant and anti-cancer properties. Vitamin C improves the immune system, it protects you from illness and it increases circulation thanks to its volatile oil content.
Before cutting the lemon, wash the skin so that any dirt or bacteria residing on the surface will not be transferred to the fruit’s interior.

Cucumber
Cucumber hydrates very well because of its 70% water content. It’s low in calories, so recommended for diet. Contains a lot of vitamin K, which is known for its role in the blood clotting process and bone health. Cucumber has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties thanks to its vitamin C, beta-carotene and manganese content.
Mint
Mint has many species including peppermint and spearmint. Because of its dynamic flavour, mint is often added to recipes in small amounts. Mint is rich in nutrients, a good source of vitamin A and antioxidants.
When your stomach feels sick, drinking a cup of mint tea can solve your problem, it helps to digest the food in your stomach.
Ginger
Ginger or ginger root is used as spice and medicine. It has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antitumor effects on cells. It reduces nausea and vomiting during pregnancy, ginger tea (fresh ginger in a cup of hot water) settles your stomach and also good against the cold.
Preparation time: 15 min
Ingredients for a 2-litre jug:
- 1 lemon
- 1 cucumber
- 12-15 mint leaves
- 1-2 cm slice of ginger
- 1,5-2 litre water
How to make the detox lemonade?
Wash the lemon and cucumber, cut both into thin slices.
Peel the ginger and slice as well.
Put them into a 2-litre jar and pour water till the top. Cover the jug, place it in the fridge and let the flavours intensify overnight.
Drink the tasty water next day.
See? That’s it, super easy!
