Summer is for watermelon (and other fruits as well). But watermelon is like water, I just start to eat it and it’s hard to stop. I have an upgraded watermelon recipe for you. It’s like red lemonade. This quick and easy 3-ingredient watermelon smoothie is the perfect combination of sweet, sour and fresh tastes. Sweet because of the watermelon, refreshing thanks to the mint and lime juice.

The health benefits of watermelon, lime and mint
Watermelon
Watermelon contains vitamin C, so it has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Moreover, it can improve cardiovascular health and protect you from macular degeneration, diabetes, and cancer.
For ripe watermelons look for the heavier ones because the water content increases along the ripening process. Its water weight can be 90%.
Lime
Lime is a good source of folate and vitamin C, which is one of the most important antioxidants in nature. Contains unique flavonoid compounds that have antioxidant and anti-cancer properties. Vitamin C improves the immune system, it protects you from illness and it increases circulation thanks to its volatile oil content.
Mint
Mint has many species including peppermint and spearmint. Because of its dynamic flavour, mint is often added to recipes in small amounts. Mint is rich in nutrients, a good source of vitamin A and antioxidants.
When your stomach feels sick, drinking a cup of mint tea can solve your problem, it helps to digest the food in your stomach.
Preparation time: 10 min
Ingredients for 2 glasses (500 ml):
- 4 small slices of watermelon (500 g without the seeds and shell)
- juice of 1 lime
- 8-10 mint leaves
How to make the 3-ingredient watermelon smoothie?
Remove shell and the seeds of the watermelon. Cut it into pieces.
Wash the mint leaves.
Place all ingredients into your blender and blend on full strength until smooth.
Pour into glasses aaaaand it’s ready to serve 🙂
You can decorate the top with extra mint leaves.
