It’s September, almost October….. Whaaaaat? How is that possible?
If you’re thinking about this, I guess you haven’t completed a lot of things from your 2018 list.

These are just excuses.

Set your goals and make them happen
What is your dream? Don’t be afraid of dreaming big. And believe in your dreams!
Write it down, this way it becomes more realistic.
Set your PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS too.
When you have your big dream, make some notes how are you going to accomplish your dream, divide the big goal into smaller goals like WEEKLY OR MONTHLY GOALS. And go for it!
Work for it, sometimes it’s hard, just think about your dream.
Remember to give yourself enough time, you don’t want to get done everything in a week. Take baby steps, just one step at a time.
Know your limits and don’t forget to enjoy your life, in the meantime 😉
My goals look like this for the year of 2018:
- Save money! Always think before buying!
- Live healthily – do more sport & eat less unhealthy food
- Don’t leave things for the last minute – do it now!
- Do more of what you love
- Improve the blog
I like this list, I think I will use it also for next year 🙂
This list hangs above my table, so I know what I have to do and it inspires me to get stick to it and remember to it.
Save money! Always think before buying!
What do you like the most? For me, it’s travelling and for that, I need money to buy flight tickets, book accommodation etc.
We need to eat, drink, have fun, get dressed. So when I go to a store or want to order something online, I always ask myself: Do I really need this?
If you hesitate after 3 seconds, you don’t need it, so DON’T BUY IT!
Money is important, we work for it hard, so we deserve our flat white or the fancy brunch sometimes, just know the limits of your bank card and your budget.
I manage my expenses with an application to know how much I spend monthly on food, transportation, bills, clothes, holiday etc. I use a Hungarian app called Koin, but maybe I will change to other free budget application like Money Lover.
Live healthily – do more sport & eat less unhealthy food
We only have one body, so we should treat it well. We need to do sports, find our favourite(s). Sport is good for our body and soul too.
Sweets, chocolates, cakes and carbs are my weak points (busted… 😉 ), so I have a rule. I eat (or try to eat) healthy food on weekdays, however, on weekends (+ holidays), I allow myself to eat sweets and dessert.
I don’t want to torture myself, it wouldn’t be good for my soul 😉
Don’t leave things for the last minute – do it now!
You cannot make everything right now, I know that. But you can do things right away, which takes 5 minutes or less. Don’t leave it for later.
I’m sure some of the following things happened with you…
- You wanted to wear that cute shirt, but one button was still missing because you were holding over to sew it back.
- Or needed an appointment at the beauty salon before your trip? Call them now, maybe later they won’t have a free appointment.
- You were looking for that important paper, but don’t remember where is it? It’s less than a minute to organize your papers well into folders. Arrange your documents, papers with the help of the DIY magazine holder.
All of these happened to me, but I’ve learnt from my mistakes.
Do it now!
The other important things should be on your to-do list.
Do more of what you love
No explanation needed for this. You will be happy if you do more of what you love. We have to appreciate the small happy moment in our life.
Improve the blog
Okay, this is a very personal mission. And I concentrated most of my time on this point. I also created more and more lists for this. Long story 😉
This might be the last point on my list, but this is the most important for me.
Find your purpose, your goal and GO FOR IT.
What’s your mission?
Prioritize your tasks with this to-do list
With the to-do list, you can manage your daily or weekly tasks depending on your schedule.
I like the feeling of crossing off a finished task on my to-do list, it makes me satisfied because I’ve done that and I can do more.
Be careful, don’t write too many things on your daily or weekly list. We are not machines, first, concentrate on the most important thing and put only 2 or 3 tasks on your list depending on your daily schedule.
If you fill your day with loads of task and complete only a few of them, you will feel disappointed with the other 10 unfinished tasks. It’s hard to stay motivated this way.
That’s why my to-do list is better. You can prioritize your goals, tasks like…
- Most important
- Maybe later…
Forget about multitasking, FOCUS on one task, you will complete it faster.
Weekly calendar
See your schedule for the whole week with this weekly planner.
You can write down your MAIN GOAL FOR THE WEEK and set some tasks for every day. Your personal programs can be on the list too, that’s why Saturday and Sunday are also in the calendar. I use this calendar as my weekly to-do list. I work as an architect from 9 to 5, so I don’t have much time to accomplish big tasks after work, so I divide my weekly project into smaller tasks.
Be more productive by batching your tasks like answering email or collecting photos…
Monthly calendar for the bigger picture
Is it easier for you to see your full month? I get it, I use this one as well. It’s easier to see my tasks for the whole month, it inspires me to accomplish my goal.
You can plan your tasks better by seeing important dates and deadlines in advance. Set your weekly goals and schedule your tasks.
Sometimes I keep one day per week blank to meet with friends or to have some me-time. Don’t overschedule your weeks.
And don’t forget to celebrate your wins!
Are you ready to crush your goals?
Accomplish your goals following this guide
- Dare to dream big!
- Now you have your main goal, so you have to divide the big goal into smaller (monthly/weekly) goals.
- To crush your smaller goals, create a daily/weekly to-do list and prioritize your tasks.
- Believe in your dream and work for it!
An example of how to set your goals
- My dream is to live healthily (I write my dream/s on the “My goals” paper).
- For this goal, I need to eat healthy food and do sports. The smaller goals are minimum 2 workouts per week, prepare my own healthy food, avoid my favourite donut place.
- The most important goal is to eat healthy food, the 2nd is the weekly workout and the 3rd can be to search for healthy snack recipes.
- Prioritizing the tasks, filling out my to-do list and calendars.
- Search for easy to make recipes and prepare them at home.
- Shopping list
- Go to the supermarket
- Check the schedule of the yoga studio
- Buy new running shoes
- Search for low carb donut recipe on Pinterest
