Hand-drawn Budapest maps by Urban Sidewalker
The story of Urban Sidewalker began in 2014 with Balázs, the artist and his friend, Máté. Balázs draws freehand and uses digital techniques only for colouring.
They started with maps capturing Budapest, its significant buildings and the Danube. If you are looking closely, you can discover tiny people on the streets of Budapest. Posters and postcards are available in many colour combination.
I don’t want to tell you every detail, so visit the Urban Sidewalker design shop close to Deák Ferenc square, browse their Etsy shop or buy their maps and prints in these stores:
- Atlantisz Könyvsziget
- Bookshop of Kunsthalle
- FIAN Concept
- MONO art & design
- Museum shop of Hungarian National Gallery
- rododendron art & design

Their products can be found in London, Vienna, Berlin, Prague and Bratislava. Check the website for the specific locations. Photos from Stylewalker.
The illustrations of Zsolt Vidák
Zsolt Vidák is a super talented Hungarian artist. He had many exhibitions and his works were featured in international magazines.
Look at the details and the colours of the Anker Palace and the Széchenyi Thermal Bath (photos from WeLoveBudapest), his illustrations are AMAZING. The people, traffic, advertisements and the small details make the drawing more special and lively. He captures the daily life of Hungarians in a fun and colourful way.
Buy his art online or visit these stores:
Look for the fun details and be careful with the shark if you visit Széchenyi Thermal Bath 😉
Budapest silkscreen prints by Zita Majoros
Zita Majoros is the founder of Printa, which is one of the first environmentally conscious brands in Hungary. They produce clothing, tote bags, home accessories, notebooks and different kinds of souvenirs as well. A café and a Zero Waste Showroom are also part of the shop.
Budapest Bridges and Budapest Bridges Beige are part of the Budapest collection. The graphics are inspired by the city’s architecture, street art, daily life and combined with typography. Photos from Printa.
Surprisingly you can buy these prints in Printa or order them from Printa online shop 🙂
Silkscreen prints by Natália Varga for Printa
Natália Varga created these illustrations for Printa’s Budapest collection.
Printa’s Pest Map isn’t only an amazing map of Pest, it shows the urban hotspots and provides a useful description. They create fresh versions to display newly opened galleries or bars and be up-to-date.
Thermal Baths map is printed on recycled paper too and presents the thermal baths and bridges of Budapest. Photos from Printa.
Aaaaand they are available in Printa and in Printa online shop.

Anita Nemes studied typography and she creates Budapest-themed colouring books, logos, maps and prints. Her Budapest collection for MNG (Hungarian National Gallery) has been nominated in the “Product of the Year” category.
This black & white print is called That’s all about the city (photo from her website).
If there’s a Stylewalker event in the city you access her maps in design and fashion stores. This one was designed for 2015 winter (photo from her website).

Bird’s eye view maps by Béla Magyar
Béla Magyar is a Hungarian architect, graphic artist and designer. He works freehand and with a digital pen on a digital tablet. His bird’s eye view maps are usually black & white, but he also draws colourful maps.
The artworks are available in different qualities. The high-quality giclée print achieves prints of superior quality and extremely long life without fading or changing colour. You can also buy his digital prints, posters, planners and notebooks.
My favourite is the Colourful Budapest and the Colourful tiny world (photo from his website). Most of his drawings have a black&white and colourful version as well.
Visit his shop, the Citygraph Gallery in the 5th district or buy his works in MAGMA Gallery design & art shop.
Illustrations by László Nagy
László Nagy makes screen printed posters, book covers and amazing drawings of Budapest. His drawings are so detailed and I adore that only one part is colourful.
The Széchényi Bath collection captures the busy life of the bath inside and outside as well.
Panoramic Budapest series shows the streets and squares of Budapest at Keleti railway station, at Blaha Lujza square and the emblematic yellow railing of the metro line 1 at Andrássy Avenue. Photos from his behance site.
Buy his drawings at rododendron art & design.
“Highlight in New Lights” Budapest poster series made by locals
Budapest Szuvenir poster shop (photos from the Facebook page) can be found on the 1st floor of Konyha in Madách square and it’s a home of Budapest posters by local artists. Every designer shows their own Budapest. Take a look at this different kind of Hero’s square by Attila Stark or the Chain Bridge with the alive lions by Richárd Orosz.
Budapest map by Lídia Hajdú
Lídia Hajdú is a graphic designer, who creates mainly packaging design, brochures and illustrations. Her Budapest map is available with different coloured backgrounds. Photo from MAGMA.
Her art is available in MAGMA Gallery.
The colourful paintings of Osgyányi Sára
Osgyányi Sára’s paintings look very cool, I like the way she uses the colours. Her favourite subjects are the Liberty Bridge (Szabadság híd), Parliament, Chain Bridge (Lánchíd), the Danube and the yellow trams.
You can order the canvas from her website. Or visit their studio in the 6th district, but call her or email her in advance. For more info and photo click here.
Buy her art in MAGMA Gallery.

Maybe you’ve figured it out that my fav is Urban Sidewalkers, but I’d place every one of the illustrations and print on my wall. Unfortunately, I have a small apartment and don’t have enough walls…
